Privacy policy
GreenDay is a personal task, calendar, and note app. You can use it locally without registration. It contains no advertising or analytics SDK. Cloud sync is optional and requires a GreenDay account.
Local tasks and upgrades
Without an account, tasks, notes, lists, tags, checkboxes, images, attachments, and linked-event metadata stay in the app's local workspace. App settings and calendar preferences stay on the device. No cloud account is silently created for a guest.
When upgrading from v1.0.2, GreenDay copies the previously selected workspace into private local storage and preserves the original folder. It no longer offers custom cloud drives or shared-folder selection. Old folders, exports, and backups remain under your control and may still be subject to their original provider's retention practices.
GreenDay accounts and cloud sync
Creating an account sends your email address and password to Google Firebase Authentication over HTTPS. Firebase handles authentication; GreenDay does not store your password in its task files. An account identifier and a device installation identifier keep account data and device changes separate. Access and refresh credentials are protected by the native operating system and excluded from task exports.
Creating a new account copies your current local tasks, notes, lists, tags, linked-event metadata, and referenced images and attachments to GreenDay's developer-managed sync service on Google Cloud Run and private Google Cloud Storage. Signing into an existing account opens that account's data and replaces the visible guest workspace, without merging guest tasks. Signed-in tasks remain cached on the device for offline use.
The cloud service is operated for GreenDay by Kihyuk Hong using Google as the hosting and authentication provider. Its storage location is US-CENTRAL1. Authorized service administrators can access hosted data to operate, secure, recover, or support the service. Data is used for app functionality, not advertising or tracking. Google receives ordinary service connection information such as your IP address and handles data under its applicable policies: Firebase privacy and security and Google privacy policy.
Operational request logs can include connection details, account and device identifiers, file names, response status, and request timing. These logs support service reliability and security. The application service does not log passwords, authentication tokens, or task and attachment contents.
Cloud transfers run while GreenDay is open. Local saving does not by itself mean that an upload has completed. Signing out starts a fresh guest workspace; account data remains in its private cache and in the cloud. Signing out is not account deletion.
Use Settings → Storage & sync → Delete cloud account and data to remove account access and request cloud data deletion. Cleanup normally runs promptly, with a daily catch-up for missed events and in-flight transfers. Protected recovery copies remain for seven days after cleanup, so final removal typically takes up to about eight days. Service outages can delay cleanup. Deleting the cloud account does not delete original v1.0.2 folders, local caches, exports, or backups on your devices.
Optional GreenDay Premium purchases
Apple processes GreenDay Premium payments and manages subscriptions. GreenDay uses StoreKit on your device to verify subscription access. GreenDay does not receive payment-card details. Signed Apple purchase and renewal proofs are sent over HTTPS to GreenDay Cloud to authorize Premium sync. Raw proofs are verified but not stored persistently or logged. Apple also sends signed subscription-status notifications to GreenDay Cloud. We keep a limited record of subscription status, expiry, refunds and revocations, using hashed purchase identifiers. A hashed GreenDay account identifier links a subscription to the first account that uses it for cloud sync, to prevent the same purchase from unlocking unrelated accounts. These records contain no card details, Apple Account email, task content or raw signed purchase proof. Your Apple Account is separate from your GreenDay account. Signing out or deleting a GreenDay cloud account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Use Help → Billing & subscriptions to manage billing through Apple.
Focus sessions and time adjustments are stored with their task and sync with Premium cloud sync. The running timer stays on its starting device. Returning to Free pauses cloud sync and new focus tracking; local tasks and recorded focus history stay available. These features add no advertising or analytics collection.
Optional calendar access
Calendar access is requested when you choose Connect calendars. With your permission, the Mac and iPhone apps use Apple's EventKit framework to read calendars and events from accounts configured in Apple Calendar, including iCloud and Google. This information is used to display your calendar beside your tasks. Full event access is required by the operating system to read events; you can decline and continue using tasks and notes.
Events you explicitly create, edit, or delete are saved through Apple Calendar. Your calendar provider handles synchronization and stores those events under its own terms and privacy practices. Account credentials remain with the operating system and provider. GreenDay does not provide a separate Google sign-in for calendar access. Linked-event metadata saved with your tasks is included in GreenDay Cloud sync when you are signed in.
When you link an event to a task, the task stores event and calendar identifiers, the original occurrence identity for recurring events, and cached event titles, dates, times, and calendar labels/colors. This metadata follows your task workspace, including its cloud copy when signed in, exports, and recovery revisions. The app does not copy the entire connected calendar into the task workspace. If you schedule a work session from a task, its title can prefill the event form; you review the event before saving it. Linking alone does not copy the task's full note or attachments into the calendar.
You can revoke calendar access in your device's privacy settings. Hiding a calendar or unlinking an event changes its display or task association; it does not delete the provider's event. Unlinking does not erase linked-event metadata from older workspace revisions or exports. Remove calendar events through an explicit delete action in GreenDay, Apple Calendar, or the provider's own app if you want to delete those events.
Links and remote images
Opening a link in a note uses your system browser or the relevant app. A remotely hosted image that you put in a note can contact its source website when the image is displayed. That website may receive information normally sent with a web request, such as your IP address. Its privacy practices apply. Files copied into your workspace can be used without loading them from their original website.
PDFs opened in native apps use system or installed document viewers. The native app does not send PDF contents to an online conversion or preview service.
Keeping and deleting data
The app retains your workspace until you remove it. Moving a task to Trash keeps a recoverable record. Earlier record versions and copied attachments may remain in the workspace so edits can be recovered. A task disappearing from the active list is not a permanent erasure of every copy.
Delete your cloud account through Storage & sync to remove hosted data as described above. To erase local data, close GreenDay and remove its local app data, along with any original v1.0.2 workspace folders, exports, and backups you kept. Contact support for device-specific instructions. Uninstalling the app does not delete your cloud account or files in an old iCloud Drive or other custom folder. Device and file-provider backups follow their own retention policies.
Limited hashed subscription-link and refund/revocation records are kept separately from workspace data, including after account deletion, to prevent replay of old purchase proofs and resolve subscription access disputes. Contact support for questions about these records or account linkage. Deleting workspace data does not cancel Apple billing.
Removing the GreenDay app or its workspace does not delete events previously saved to your calendar accounts. Calendar providers may retain deleted events and backups according to their own policies. The GreenDay display name does not rename an existing workspace folder; a folder named Daymark can still hold your current workspace.
Support and beta testing
If you contact support, the publisher receives the contact details and information you choose to send and uses them to respond to your request. Please remove private task content from screenshots and use a small fictional example where possible. Contact support to request deletion of support correspondence; information may be kept where required to resolve a request or meet applicable obligations.
If you use a TestFlight beta, Apple’s TestFlight service can provide crash information and feedback you submit to the developer. These beta-testing services are separate from the app’s task storage.
When you visit these public support and privacy pages, your browser sends ordinary connection information to the website host. These pages contain no analytics scripts, advertising, external fonts, or contact form.
